Defending champion and three-time Wells Fargo Champion Rory McIlroy(T17/-3) made five birdies on the back nine (started on 10), tying the most birdies or better he has made on the first nine holes of a tournament in his PGA Tour career (2013 PLAYERS Championship, 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions).
