Big Papi to Attend Sox Hall of Fame

May 24, 2022 by Digital Sports Desk

BOSTON – (Staff Report from Official News Release) – National Baseball Hall of Famer David Ortiz is confirmed to attend the tonight’s Red Sox Hall of Fame induction ceremony and the presentation of the “Fenway Honors” awards for charitable achievement, which will be held on the field at Fenway Park for the first time. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets start at $20 on redsox.com/fenwayhonors and are available in select seating areas to maximize views of the stage, including Grandstand, Loge Box, and Field Box. Tickets in the Dell Technologies Club are also available for purchase and include food and non-alcoholic beverages. Concessions will be available for the duration of the ceremony. Proceeds from the event benefit the Red Sox Foundation, which is celebrating its 20 years of impact in the New England community this year.

The 2020 Red Sox Hall of Fame inductees include Hall of Famer David Ortiz and former Red Sox players Manny Ramirez, Rich Gedman, and the late Bill Dinneen. Former Red Sox General Manager Dan Duquette is the non-uniformed inductee. The Red Sox’ first World Series win in 86 years on October 27, 2004 has been selected as the “Memorable Red Sox Moment.” The induction ceremony of the 2020 Red Sox Hall of Fame class was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 and was postponed until this year due to the pandemic.

In addition to Red Sox Hall of Fame inductions, the event will include the 2020 and 2022 presentation of the Fenway Honors awards, a Red Sox Foundation recognition of businesses and individual leaders for their charitable achievements in the community. Boston Beer Company and Phill and Liz Gross are the 2020 honorees, and CVS Health and former Bank of America Vice Chairman Anne Finucane are the 2022 honorees.

The Red Sox Hall of Fame and Fenway Honors event is supported by the Boston Red Sox, Bank of America, Aramark, CVS Health, Massachusetts General Brigham, NESN, Suffolk Cares Charitable Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, BoSox Club, Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, Jack and Eileen Connors, Foundation To Be Named Later, Josh Kraft, Pan-Mass Challenge and The Jimmy Fund, and Takeda.

Additional information for the event including ticket and sponsorship information can be found by visitingredsox.com/fenwayhonors.
